I have arrived!

Hello!!

So I arrived here in Paris Saturday afternoon, and after checking into my "studio", I met up with some other people from UT who are also here studying with me. We took the metro to the "Opera" station and found a Deli and got some yummy pasta.

My room is not bad. Sparse, but spacious, clean, and we have a nice window which provides us with a breeze, considering we don't have air conditioning. The bathroom is interesting, but at least it's all our own!

Sunday morning my roomate Melissa (above), some friends we met from the MPA accounting program staying in our apartment building and I went on an adventure to walk around our neighborhood and made our way into the city. We stopped at a great bakery-type place for lunch and got some yummy paninis close by where we live.
We then walked down to the Bastille monument and found this fabulously bustling market spanning a whole street length! We got some delicious fresh fruit (strawberries, peaches, and cherries) and they are all amazing. We couldn't resist all of the bright colors, amazing smells, and funny people working in the booths!

We continued to roam, going by the new opera house, down pretty avenues where we found a great band playing on the street, and eventually getting on the subway to head back to our studios, where I ate my fruit while enjoying the nice breeze coming in our window (haha).

We went back into the center of the city for dinner, eating at a fun restaurant just down the road from the metro station, then making our way down through this garden, past the Louve and to the Seine to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle on the hour.

Yesterday was our first day of classes here at ESCP Europe, one of the top business schools in France. I like the two professors that we have met, but eventually we will be lectured by 5 separate teachers to give us a better view of the different teaching styles and perspectives on marketing.

Sorry for the delay in posting this, the internet has been a bit of a frustration, but I should be able to get online more regularly from here on out! Hope everyone is well! I am LOVING paris!!!
